Lockdown Looks: How to wear your nightwear as daywear

Pyjamas are amazing. We've got the snuggly, cosy ones for a cold winter's night and the cool, light ones for a hot summer, but with so many different materials, styles and cuts, it's surprising that they’re usually sitting in the underrated and underappreciated pile.
But with the Coronavirus outbreak & lockdown of 2020, we've found ourselves stuck indoors... Every day's the same: waking up, rolling out of bed, to get ready and dressed for the day, only to go and sit and work at your desk and work the next room. The effort you put in in the morning isn't worth what it used to.
So, what if I told you I can show you how to roll out of bed and make the clothes you slept in look fashionable?
Tip #1 - Wear a tee/jumper over the top or underneath
Nightdresses can sometimes be a little revealing or intimate to wear alone in public, we get it, so wearing a cool t-shirt underneath, or a cute jumper/t-shirt over the top will help you cover up whilst making it look good.
Tip #2 - Match the shoes & bag to your vibe
The shoes, jacket and handbag you choose will determine the look and vibe you're going for. So if you're going for a smarter look, choose heels/boots with a pointed toe to elongate the leg, or if you're going for the casual look, wear a cool slouchy denim jacket and some cool trainers.
Tip #3 - Jewellery
A slip dress is such a gorgeous, classic style which definitely sports the “less is more” vibe. Simple, subtle and sparkly pendant pieces which catch the eye are the ones to go for.
Here at Treaty, we make ethically-sourced, unique, silver jewellery and we'd choose these for this look:
Tip #1: Styling it
You can keep things as they are, but you can also hide the secret more too. You could do a “half-tuck” where you tuck in one side of the top - this is a super cool casual look. Or if you’re looking to hide the obvious pyjamas shirt style, safety pin the lapels at the top so it appears to be fully buttoned up!
Tip #2: Accessorise
Accessorising your matching set is crucial. Dress your look up with some gorgeous heels to keep it classy, or some cool trainers to dress them down. Don’t forget to add in a matching handbag!
Tip #3: Jewellery
As it’s quite a covered up style, the jewellery has to be bold and strong enough to stand out. Long and large necklaces (maybe more than one or two) will work really well.
Definitely go and have a dig through your old pyjama draw, pull out your old pj bottoms/tops/nighties/whatever you choose, and jazz them up in the morning. Why not? Just remember: why waste time and effort in the morning getting changed when you can just wear the same clothes and save time being comfy?
